Last of the forties

I got three runs in last week, finishing with six miles last Saturday, which I was delighted with, as I haven’t run that far since the marathon. I intend to do longer runs on Saturdays, to keep myself ready for longer distances when the time comes. I hadn’t intended it to be, but that six mile run turned out to be the last run of my forties - I turn fifty tomorrow. A quiet run

I only ran once last week. I wasn’t feeling great all week - women’s troubles as we’d say. The weather wasn’t great either, so I was happy not to run. However I had signed up for a virtual 5 mile run to be done this weekend. To be honest, I was nearly going to skip it: it was cold and wet and who cares if I don’t do it? Anti-social running

I got in three runs last week, which is my target for the next few months. My coach Mary Jennings has brought her business on-line, and I’ve signed up for my second term with her. The aim is to keep us all running and connected with each other over the winter and this latest lockdown. It’s a fantastic group of women. Lunchtime running

Second lockdown run, done on my lunch break from work. It’s the best time to go out really, day-light and frost-free, though a good few COVID walkers have reappeared on the streets. I remind myself I’m as entitled as them to be out, and get out of their way.
