The night before

I’m off to London in the morning for a half marathon on Sunday. It’s my first flight in years, post Covid, post everything that’s happened. So I think I have everything I need: just need to get through the horrendous queue for security in Dublin airport. I will relax after that, I hope. Hello, it’s me

Seems it's over a year since I updated my poor neglected blog. I noticed in my bio that I have described it as my record for posterity, so I should treat it as such. In a way there's not been much to say about the last year; in another it was an exceptional year of life, given the pandemic and all. Last of the forties

I got three runs in last week, finishing with six miles last Saturday, which I was delighted with, as I haven’t run that far since the marathon. I intend to do longer runs on Saturdays, to keep myself ready for longer distances when the time comes. I hadn’t intended it to be, but that six mile run turned out to be the last run of my forties - I turn fifty tomorrow. A quiet run

I only ran once last week. I wasn’t feeling great all week - women’s troubles as we’d say. The weather wasn’t great either, so I was happy not to run.
