Virtual marathon update

It’s been a long time since I updated my poor blog. I suppose it’s the times that are in it; some things are more important. The good news is I have been training all summer for my virtual marathon, and we are up to 18 miles, which I did yesterday. The plan is to do our marathon on Sunday 25 October, which is the original date of the Dublin marathon. Pity about the pandemic

On Friday night our Taoiseach (head of government) went on tv to announce further restrictions on non-essential travel in an effort to reduce the spread of the virus in the community. That includes staying within 2km of home when exercising. It’s a good job I’m used to running in circles around my neighbourhood! I’m all set - bring it on. 3 socially distant miles yesterday and they were very nice. And quiet. There’s always an upside. I will try and do 3 miles as often as I can. Running in a time of corona-virus

Well it's a funny old world isn't it? Here we are thinking we are masters of the universe, making plans for ourselves and thinking we are in control of our lives, when boom, mother nature reasserts herself with a virus that spreads like lightening around the world and turns it upside down.
