Running or gin

Two posts in one day - must be a record! I decided to do a quick run to try out my new gear and get my head sorted. My granny always used to say ‘don’t get old Julie’ and I tell you, it’s no joke. My poor dad is seriously declining and is falling and the whole thing is just a nightmare. Old age is not for wimps. A good half and new runners

After all my talk on Wednesday I didn’t run down to my parents on Thursday; I drove. My mother had some jobs for me to do so it wasn’t really right to go down in sweaty gear. So instead of feeling guilty about my parents I felt guilty about not running. Great. No more slacking

For some reason I always have trouble with the idea of doing any speed work. I’m not sure why really; I always enjoy it when it’s done. I think it’s more just the effort after working all day. The thought of evening runs never do much for me, so my challenge is to get out and do them. A lecture and a headache

My mileage was quite low last week so am determined that there will be no slacking off this week. I went to the dentist at work today, and, as usual, he gave me a lecture and a headache that lasted all day. But nevertheless I went out for my recovery run and enjoyed it. My legs felt ok and it was nice and cool so I ended up doing 3 miles. It was a good start to my running week, despite that dentist.
